If they wanted to have tree rescue, they should have had Papa get stuck in one. He might have accidentally been on the wrong part of the branch he sawed off or got stuck on a giant Redwood or Sequoia.
Evolution is why cartoon characters own pets. Some animals are inferior to others and less on the evolution scale. It is why Goofy wears clothes and Pluto doesn’t and is a pet.
